Shesays scholarship takeaways from SheSays & BDA boulder

My takeaways from the SheSays Scholar experience – Abby Driscoll

We’re excited to see another scholar boost their careers with fresh know-how and skills. Here’s what Abby Driscoll had to say about her experience.

I am grateful for the opportunity to have taken classes at Boulder Digital Arts as part of the SheSays Boulder scholarship. When I started my own business last year, I wanted to take my experience and skillset to the next level. BDA’s digital marketing courses broadened my skillset to help me maximize the value I can bring to my clients. I also loved being able to take the classes online, since as a single mom my free nights are pretty few and far between!

Successful marketing today relies on an interconnected set of powerful digital tools. Social media, email and online presence should be optimized and integrated to leverage an organization’s ability to reach their target audience, identify and convert leads.

As a marketing consultant, I want to help my clients realize their full potential by implementing marketing tactics that incorporate the latest digital tools. That’s why learning about online advertising metrics through BDA’s Google AdWords course, including cost per click (CPC,) cost per acquisition (CPA,) and cost per 1,000 impressions (CPM) helps me be a better marketer.

Designing email campaigns that integrate best practices on layout and content as well as list building strategies is essential to being successful in today’s world of inbound marketing. BDA’s Email Marketing course will help me implement the most up-to-date email marketing tricks of the trade. If emails are designed to attract leads to your website, implementing SEO techniques with knowledge about page rank, URLs that incorporate keywords, image names, anchor text, site performance and mobile responsiveness will improve ROI. BDA’s Search Engine Optimization class provided expert tips that I can take directly to help my clients revise their websites with the latest SEO tactics in mind.

As I said in my blog post before taking these classes, marketing is no longer about selling. It’s an interactive process that engages consumers in the moment. At Peak to Peak Impact, I want to help businesses, nonprofits and public sector entities improve ROI by implementing inbound marketing strategies that convert strangers into customers and turn customers into promoters. A smart content marketing strategy is the foundation for a successful inbound marketing system. By delivering content that your customers (and potential customers) want, you’ll improve engagement and increase ROI. Analytics of various digital tools is essential to measuring your ability to move leads down the marketing funnel. Which is why, last but not least, BDA’s Google Analytics class is an essential part of any marketer’s toolbox.

Thank you again, SheSays Boulder and Boulder Digital Arts for this amazing opportunity to help me level up!
