Member Spotlight Series: Hannah Davis

SheSays member spotlight Hannah DavisHannah Davis is an extraordinary community builder and startup supporter. Before joining MergeLane as Program Director, Hannah was an integral force at the Impact Hub Boulder, a co-working space for community and socially-focused businesses. As one of the first employees, she helped grow the community from zero to over four hundred members.

Prior to moving to Boulder, Hannah spent nine months living in Israel and India where she worked with various social entrepreneurs to accelerate their efforts. She also spent a winter working as an intern at Grand Targhee Ski Resort, helping to measure their greenhouse gas emissions and reduce their environmental impact.

We asked Hannah a few questions…

Name a book or blog that changed your life?

Ismael by Daniel Quinn

In 5 words or less, describe what has been most important to your success in your career?

Surrounding myself with inspiring & passionate people.

What are you working on now? OR.. What are you most proud of in your accomplishments so far.

I took some time off MergeLane to work on Engage Boulder through mid-November. Engage Boulder is a non-profit working to get out the vote for the upcoming Boulder city council elections. We are focusing on reaching entrepreneurs, tech, and young professionals. The average age in Boulder is 57, yet over half the population is 25-44.

With everything that is happening on a national level, one can make a big difference participating at a local level. A council seat was won two years ago with only 125 votes!Engage Boulder is backing a slate of candidates that have entrepreneurial and small business experience, and care deeply about sustainability, housing for middle-income residents, safety, and supporting the arts and creative community. I’m proud to be supporting Eric Budd, Jan Burton, Mark McIntyre, Jill Grano, and Bill Rigler, they are practical, forward-looking and want Boulder to remain innovative and open.

Mail-in ballots have been sent out and voting ends November 7th. To register or update your registration, click here. I hope you vote and encourage your friends to vote!

If you could give your 20-year-old self-advice, what would it be?

If you could give 20-year-old self-advice, what would it be?
I don’t need permission to be me. Trust myself and trust the process. The people who matter will still love me even if I’m not trying to be perfect. (I would give my 30-year-old self this advice too 😉

Every month we spotlight an amazing woman who is part of the SheSays Boulder community. Some have shared their story as a speaker at our events.
