We asked Kathy a few questions…

Name a book or blog that changed your life?

Most of the best lessons I’ve learned in life seem to come from fiction. I’m a big fan of the Harry Potter series.

Harry was faced with incredible obstacles throughout his life, many putting him in peril. Still he stood firm for what he believed despite his fear, insecurities, and constant belittling by others. He stepped into the fray when faced with these trials rather than running/hiding from them.

Hermione is fearless in how she bring smarts and logic to every challenge! She truly reminds us that we don’t have to have all the answers. Instead we just need to stay calm, work through the obstacles in front of us, and we will overcome!

In 5 words or less, describe what has been most important to your success in your career?

Give First. Be Transparent. Care.

What are you working on now? OR.. What are you most proud of in your accomplishments so far.

The beginning of this year we became a full-fledged third party health plan administrator for self-insured employers. We’re focused on ensuring our members feel the simplicity, transparency and love that comes with being on an Apostrophe health plan. The technology behind health plans is enormously complex behind the scenes. I’m most proud of my team for staying highly aligned as we conquer this complexity head on!

If you could give your 20-year-old self-advice, what would it be?

Be bold and brave. Take risks. Trust yourself.
